COVID-19 Update - May 21, 2020

May. 21, 2020

To all Softball Manitoba Members,

While the Manitoba government is gradually increasing the number allowed at social gatherings and opening up on resuming sports activities for children and adults by lifting occupancy limits at outdoor recreation facilities, Softball Manitoba continues to prepare and commit to a June 1st start (as long as physical distancing and proper health precautions can be maintained),  Our Return To Play Guidelines are currently under review by Sport Manitoba and the Manitoba Government and until approved Softball Manitoba will continue to lock down their Development and Competition programming.

Softball Manitoba will continue to work with Sport Manitoba and the Province of Manitoba to meet the health and safety requirements necessary to be prepared in the event that we are allowed to return to play. As per out last notice (April 30) - the plan currently anticipates that organized softball will be permitted to start no earlier than June 1, 2020. Please note that Softball Manitoba accident insurance coverage for athletes, coaches and officials will NOT be activated until June 1, 2020.

Educating Leagues on our Return To Play guidelines and forwarding further information on proper safety precautions for play and physical distancing will be our immediate priority.

Sincerely,

Don Klym
